Roll-out Celebration for StewARTworks Foundation

Sunday, June 11, 2017

2:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Terra & Vine

Evanston, IL

Family and friends gathered in Evanston to celebrate the introduction of the StewARTworks Foundation. Established in memory of Stewart B. Leavitt, the Foundation’s mission is to provide family caregivers of palliative care patients being treated for pain, with the support, information, resources and advocacy needed to best care for their loved ones, their families and themselves.

Stewart had the unique ability to combine art and science throughout his long and distinguished career. The Foundation recognizes the great passions of his life – family, art and writing – and strives to continue his legacy by expanding the public dialogue regarding caregivers, palliative care and pain management.

Attendees were treated to a sneak peek of the website (in development) and the unique fundraising model developed by the Foundation. These gallery events will feature the original artwork Stewart created while he was ill (2013-2016). Giclee prints of select pieces will be offered for sale to fund the programs and grants that support and educate caregivers and the general public. The gallery events will also encourage discussion and shared information about caregiving, palliative care and pain management.

Three giclee prints were made available for purchase by those in attendance.

Limited Edition giclee print of Yellow Tree by Stewart B. Leavitt
giclee print of Visitors at Evermore Beach by Stewart B. Leavitt
