Stewart B. Leavitt, Ph.D. was trained as a medical artist in the early-mid 1960s. When he returned to painting after a long break, he consciously moved away from the precision of his former work to a looser style.

All of the artwork displayed in this gallery was painted by Stewart between 2013–2016 as he was being treated for stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer.

Select giclee prints of his original artwork are available to purchase. For more information click here.
